I'm gonna try to be that way
I'm gonna try to be that way
Do the kind of things
I oughta do
Say the kind of things
I oughta say
I'm gonna try to be that way
Jesus never did anybody wrong
He tried to right every little wrong
Brought a better plan
To make a better men
If you're rich or poor or weak or strong
I'm gonna try to be that way
Hey, hey
I'm gonna try to be that way
Do the kind of things that
I oughta do
Say the kind of things
That I oughta say
I'm gonna try to be that way
He talked about love and brotherhood
He went around doing everybody good
A better way He walked
A better talk He talked
People started acting like they should
I'm gonna try to be that way
Hey, hey
I'm gonna try to be that way
I'm gonna do the kind of things
That I think man oughta do
I'm gonna say the kind of things
That I think man oughta say
I'm gonna try to be that way
I'm gonna try to be that way
Hey, hey
I'm gonna try to be that way
Do the kind of things
I oughta do
Say the kind of things
I oughta say
I'm gonna try to be that way
